Hello,
I understand that SMTP Queues on Exchange servers are monitored by default
by MOM. How would I monitor the SMTP queues on a Windows IIS SMTP server that
does not run Exchange? The server sits in a DMZ, is not part of a domain, and
is responsible for the routing of internet mail.
I've been informed by the Exchange Admin (I'm not an Exchange expert) that
the queues have ceased to send mail (based on DNS issues) on two occasions
and have queued up large amounts of messages. I see no evidence of this
happening, but need a solution to track how many messages reside in
c:\inetpub\mailrooot\queue, and trigger an alert if a predefined treshold is
breached.
Any help is appreciated.
